John Deere is rolling out new versions of its high-tech simulators for construction machines. The interactive training aids put new operators in the virtual driver’s seat of five machine types (backhoes, crawler dozers, excavators, wheel loaders, and motor graders) to learn how to operate them safely.

“The next generation of John Deere simulators builds on a state-of-the-art technology that teaches machine controls, hand-eye coordination, safe operation, and operator technique,” says John Deere Construction & Forestry’s manager of learning technology, Jon Goodney.

The simulators’ software keeps track of each student’s progress in learning how to run the machinery. It complements the free training information on the John Deere University website.

“Simulators offer cost-effective and efficient operator training in a risk-free environment, while avoiding wear and tear on the equipment,” Goodney continues. “It’s a win-win for organizations looking to get the next generation of operators ready

    for the jobsite.”

The updated simulators let you quickly replace their joystick and foot pedal controls to emulate different machines’ cockpits. They also support vertical and horizontal screen configurations.

Deere plans to showcase the new units at the bauma trade show, which will run April 8 to 14 in Munich, Germany.

The company will release the new backhoe and excavator simulator updates this spring, along with motor grader units with either joystick or fingertip controls. Later, in the summer, Deere will ship its crawler dozer and wheel loader updates.

MachineryTrader.com features a tremendous selection of new and used Deere construction equipment for sale, including new and used Deere loader backhoes, excavators, motor graders, crawler dozers, and wheel loaders.
