Straw blowers and hydroseeders let grounds crews and other operators cover large areas of ground with straw, grass, and other seed types in a very short period as compared to seeding by hand. Whereas straw blowers do exactly what their name suggests at distances up to and beyond 65 feet, hydroseeders use a process that mixes water, seed, mulch, and a tackifier—as well as possibly fertilizer, lime, herbicides, bio-stimulants, and other materials depending on the job—into a slurry mixture that’s sprayed across the surface.
