Huaxing Iron Works, the predecessor of XCMG, began in the Shandong province as the arsenal of the national army but, by 1957, had begun its foray into construction machinery with its first tower crane. Steam rollers and truck cranes soon followed, and in 1989, XCMG Group was established in Xuzhou.

The XCR75U is intended for work in oilfields, mines, and road and bridge construction. It has a 75-t (68-mt) lifting capacity and a fully extended boom reach of 147.6 feet (45 meters).
