    The Kubota Equipment Product Line

Kubota is also a leading farm equipment manufacturer, including subcompact, compact, utility, specialty, and agriculture tractors. It also sells zero-turn and other mowers, UTVs, and hay and farm implements such as disc mowers, balers, and rakes. Kubota is a long-time designer and manufacturer of engines, stationary generators, and attachments. Attachments for Kubota construction machines include pallet forks, grapples, rippers, compactors, dozer blades, and buckets.

    Kubota’s History

Gonshiro Kubota founded the company now known as Kubota in 1890 as a foundry in Osaka, Japan. In 1922, Kubota began producing oil-based engines for agriculture machines. By 2002, industrial engine production had surpassed 20 million units.

In 1953, Kubota established the Kubota Construction Machinery Co. and started producing power shovels and other construction equipment. In 1974, the company unveiled the KH1, a fully rotating mini backhoe that became its base machine. Kubota established a new construction machinery division in 1979 and introduced the KH-10 Series of compact excavators.

    World Leader In Mini Excavators

In 2024, Kubota claimed to be the world’s leading seller of mini excavators for 22 consecutive years. Contributors to that ongoing success include machine durability, superior performance, and easy maintenance. The Kubota U Series mini excavator range comprises models with engine power ratings ranging from roughly 10 to 47 horsepower (7.5 to 35 kilowatts).

The 24.8-HP (18.5-kW) U35-4 and 47.6-HP (35.5-kW) U55-5 mini excavators are often for sale on MachineryTrader.com. Buyers can equip the U35-4 with an optional hydraulic angle blade controlled by a thumb-operator rocker switch. The U55-5 offers a maximum digging depth of 11.9 feet (3.6 meters) and a maximum dumping height of 13.2 ft (4 m). Kubota K Series mini excavators include the KX040-4, a 40.4-HP (30.1-kW) model with a 6-in-1 hydraulic blade that provides six positions.

Kubota KX080-4 and KX057-5 crawler excavators are also popular on MachineryTrader.com, thanks to their Tier 4-compliant Kubota engines and capabilities such as two-speed travel for efficient backfilling.

Kubota Wheel & Track Skid Steer Features

Compact Kubota skid steers can tackle various terrain and work in tight areas. The Kubota wheel skid steer lineup includes the SSV65 and SSV75. The 74.3-HP (55.4-kW) SSV75 has a tipping load of 5,380 pounds (2,440 kilograms) and features such as a roll-up door on what Kubota says is the market’s widest cab at 36 inches (91.4 centimeters). The SSV75 also employs a loader arm design taken from Kubota’s compact track skid steers.

At this writing, Kubota track skid steers (or track loaders) include the SVL65-2, SVL75-3, and SVL97-2. The SVL75-2 and SVL75-3 track loaders for sale on MachineryTrader.com are designed for digging, hauling materials, grading, and other jobs. Each machine’s Kubota engine is rated for 74.3 HP, but the SVL75-3’s power plant provides higher peak torque.
