Bomag BF 300 C Asphalt Paver
Bomag was founded in 1957 in Boppard, Germany, by Karl Heinz Schwamborn. The company’s first product was the BW 60 double vibratory roller with all-drum drive. The revolutionary piece of compaction technology was a success and 13 years after Bomag’s inception, the company was the leading supplier of vibratory rollers worldwide. Bomag released the world’s first 7-metric-ton double vibratory roller, the BW 200, in 1962. The BW 200 remained a bestseller for the company until 1993. Schwamborn sold the company to Koehring in 1970. Bomag was subsequently sold to SPX Corporation in 2001 and then to Fayat in 2005.
Today, Bomag employs over 2,300 employees worldwide. The company has 12 foreign subsidiaries and more than 400 dealers and sales networks in roughly 150 countries. Altogether Bomag manufactures 250 products across four facilities in Alfonsine, Italy, Boppard, Germany, Changzhou, China, and Ridgeway, USA.
Continued Innovation & Expanded Product Line
In addition to equipment for road and heavy dam construction, Bomag produces products for horticulture, landscaping, landfill, and recycling purposes. Bomag’s construction equipment covers light compaction equipment (tampers, walk-behind rollers, single-direction vibratory plates, etc.), asphalt products (Cedarapids paving equipment, pneumatic rollers, material transfer vehicles, etc.), and soil-compaction products (single-drum vibratory rollers, soil compactors). Bomag also produces refuse compactors for sanitary landfill management and cold milling machines, RS recyclers, and stabilizers/recyclers.
