    About Toyota

Those who know a great deal about Toyota automobiles are often surprised to find that Toyota is a multi-faceted company that manufactures a wide range of other machines. From 1890, when the company’s founder invented the Toyoda (with a “D”) wooden hand loom, to 1933, when the company set up its first department to start manufacturing automobiles, to today, Toyota has expanded to offer everything from cars and trucks to forklifts, automated storage systems, and air jet looms.

In 1956, the company introduced its first lift truck. Since then, Toyota has innovated on past models to create lines of forklifts and tractors designed to work indoors and outdoors in industrial warehouse settings and beyond.

Toyota sells internal combustion lift trucks, electric lift trucks, skid steer loaders, on-foot lifters, tow tractors, and more. These forklifts and other machinery are designed to be used in warehouses for lifting and moving pallets or in the harbor, stone, and lumber industries to lift massive cargo crates and heavy materials.

The GENEO electric counterbalanced lift truck is a good example of Toyota’s newer product offerings that emphasize ease of use, environmental soundness, reliability, and durability.
