    About JLG Industries

JLG Industries, a global leader in the design and manufacture of lift and access equipment, was founded in 1969 in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, by John L. Grove. During a trip to the Hoover dam, Grove witnessed the accidental electrocution of two workers working on scaffolding; this impressed on him the need for equipment that could safely lift construction and maintenance workers in the air for the performance of an array of tasks.

    JLG 460SJC Telescopic Boom Lift

The company sold its first aerial work platform in 1970 and its first scissor lift in 1976. The 1990s saw three big additions to the JLG portfolio, including the introduction of the first 150-foot (46-meter) boom lift (the 150HAX) in 1991, the first mobile vertical lift in 1996, and telehandlers in 1999. By 2015, JLG had manufactured its 100,000th telehandler. JLG was acquired by the Oshkosh Corporation in 2006 and today has a global presence, with locations in North America, Latin America, Middle East, Russia, Asia, Europe, and Australia and New Zealand.

    An Expanding Product Line

JLG’s aerial work platforms and telehandlers are favorites among the construction, industrial, commercial, mining, and other industries. One of the company’s most popular models is the 400S telescopic boom lift, which has a platform height of 40 ft (12 m) and a restricted platform capacity of 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms). In the over 50 years since its inception, the company’s product line has expanded to include engine-powered boom lifts, electric and hybrid boom lifts, low-level access lifts, vertical lifts, stock pickers, scissor lifts, towable boom lifts, drop-deck trailers, telehandlers, and utility vehicles. JLG also offers an extensive line of parts and accessories.
