Fuchs Debuts F120 MH Material Handler Crawler Version
Fuchs recently introduced a new crawler undercarriage iteration of its high-capacity F120 MH material handler for unloading barges and bulk freighters. The new undercarriage offers a stable, mobile option for the big machine, which is also available with a stationary base, a mobile foundation, or a tracked gantry (portal) undercarriage.
The new crawler carrier also doubles the machine’s travel speed to 2.4 mph (3.9 km/h) compared to the gantry model’s 1.2 mph (1.9 km/h) max speed.
F120 MH Specifications
The new crawler version of the material handler can lift up to 57,300 pounds (25,990 kilograms) or attain 59 feet (18 meters) of reach with its straight boom and shorter dipper stick. When equipped with a banana-shaped boom, longer dipper, and gantry, the Fuchs F120 MH can reach of up to 91.83 ft (28 m) and a lift height of 88.5 ft (27 m). Depending on the configuration, the machine’s service weight falls between 264,500 and 330,700 lbs (119,975 and 150,000 kg).
The F120 MH uses a 201-horsepower (150-kilowatt) Fuchs Blue Hybrid drive and a 469-HP (350-kW), 12-liter Deutz diesel engine to move the heaviest loads in a fuel-efficient manner with a combined 670 HP (500 kW). According to Fuchs, the Blue Hybrid system recovers energy as the boom is lowered, offering energy savings of up to 35%.
F120 MH Visibility & Cabin
The operator can raise the F120 MH’s comfort cab hydraulically for a better view of the work site. Other visibility features include various LED work light package options, rear and side view cameras, and panoramic cab and roof windows, which also protect the cabin from outside heat and noise.
A sturdy catwalk gives the operator safe access to the cab and the Fuchs service platform at the rear of the superstructure. The service platform makes all service points easy to access for faster maintenance and less downtime.
