Multiquip Opens New Logistics & Technical Support Center
Multiquip, a large manufacturer and supplier of power generators, lighting products, and construction equipment, has just put the finishing touches on its new state-of-the-art Logistics and Technical Support Center, in San Bernardino, California.
Room To Grow
The new facility has 188,000 square-feet of floor space, ensuring the company has all the room it needs to keep up with the demands of its growing customer base. The building is a mere hour and a half drive from the Port of Los Angeles, and over-road shipments and deliveries are simplified thanks to a pair of two interstates, several airports, and a major rail corridor within close proximity to the building.
According to Multiquip, the new building is being used to house fully assembled construction equipment and power equipment product lines, as well as the service parts that were previously managed at the firm’s Boise, Idaho, location. The consolidation of machinery and components will help the company fulfill orders even more quickly than before.
There’s also space for offices, and that’s where Multiquip’s technical assistance center will be located. The personnel here will field all manner of parts questions and tackle technical support issues for Multiquip’s customers. According to Juan Quiros, vice president of Engineering and Product Support, “Having our parts and technical support team in one location, with access to equipment and service parts, improves efficiencies and customer response time.”
Get Schooled
Multiquip’s comprehensive service training program, University Of Multiquip (UMQ), will also benefit from operating out of the new location. In addition to having access to Multiquip’s expert engineers and technicians, those attending classes will also have state-of-the-art equipment, an expanded service lab, and multiple demonstration areas on hand to enhancing the learning experience. Those interested in signing up for a UMQ class need to get their ducks in a row, the next class begins in November.
