Bobcat Grows An Extra Eye
West Fargo, North Dakota,-based Bobcat, a leading manufacturer of compact equipment for the construction, agriculture, and mining industries, recently added a Rear Camera Kit as an optional add-on for its lineup of compact track loaders.
Back Up With Care
The new Rear Camera Kit consists of a 4.3-inch (109-millimeter) LCD color monitor with an LED backlit screen, wiring harness, mounts, and a tailgate-mounted camera capable of delivering a wide-angle view of everything behind the machine. The screen offers a 118-degree horizontal viewing angle and an 89-degree vertical viewing angle, and operators can get a full view whether they’re running the machine day or night. Unlike backup systems that only activate when the machine is reversing, the Bobcat Rear Camera Kit runs continuously, so you are always aware of your surroundings.
Other features of the system include over and under voltage protections, shock- and vibration-resistant electronics, a heavy-duty metal housing and a rubber backlit keypad to protect components harsh conditions common to construction sites. The screen also has an anti-glare coating and is scratch-resistant. The camera features an integrated heater that clears condensation and melts snow and ice so the system will function in any weather conditions. The kit is compatible with any M Series or newer Bobcat loader models.
