C.N. Wood Co., Inc. is a family-owned and operated company that strives to provide the highest quality products and service to the construction, municipal and solid waste markets.
In 1964, Bob Benard and Paul McCarthy went into partnership with Charlie Wood owner of the Charles N. Wood Co., selling snow removal equipment.
In 1966, Mr. Benard and Mr. McCarthy purchased the company and renamed it C.N. Wood Co., Inc. Shortly thereafter they acquired the Leach and Elgin accounts. In the early 70's, C.N. Wood added Trojan to their growing business but gave it up in 1974 to become the Clark Michigan dealer for the area. In 1982 C.N. Wood acquired the Komatsu line for the Massachusetts and Rhode Island area.
In the late 80's Paul McCarthy made the decision to retire and Bob Benard became the sole owner of C.N. Wood Co. Bob's daughter, Paula joined the company as Vice-President in July of 1991.
In 1995 C.N. Wood Co. formed Woodco Machinery, to carry the Michigan / Volvo line of construction Equipment and also picked up the New Holland line at this time. Woodco is located close by in Woburn, Mass.
Today, C.N. Wood employs over 100 people, in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. We are the largest Elgin dealer in the World and the largest Komatsu dealer in New England. Excellence in customer service has always been the goal of C.N. Wood Co. We believe in taking care of each customer, and that means finding the right products for them, matching equipment to the right application, and backing it up with parts and service.
